Negative Emphasis on Death by some retard that can’t spell

Death is the result of living. If we know life then we will know death. It is not something to be scared of - It is not the bleakness of black - It is not tears and heart wrenching grief.

Is death worthy of the of the negative emphasis brought on by the depths of our society? Is this negative view on reality brought on by pop-culture horror films? is it brought on by the negative reaction from experiencing loss? or is brought on by religious and non-religious traditions?

Through-out this speech I will showcase the religious view on death compared to the non-religious reality of death In an attempt to get a better understanding of the negative emphasis admitted on the end of life.

Religion. The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power. Today, there are 21 major religions all following a belief of their own forms of life after death. Different forms of reincarnation, heaven and hell tend to hold the majority of beliefs on death through-out over 80% of the worlds population.
For this perspective we will take the Jewish image of heaven as Judaism was the predominant religion fearing for their lives during the time setting of Nazi Germany.

Although the main focus of the Jewish religion is life on earth and interaction between people, they traditionally believe in life after death in the form of heaven and hell. This is better described as ‘Life after life’ and with this we can rephrase the question - Do Jews believe in death? and to put it simply - no. This confused me at first, how do they have a negative perception of death if they don’t believe in it? Why is there is any need to cry at funeral’s if you will be reunited with your loved ones after you yourself essentially “fall over and jump onto the stairway to heaven”

Is this belief in ‘Life after life’ just a strategy making a vain attempt to help you deal with loss? If the after life is so glorious - why are we scared to die? As an Agnostic Atheist these beliefs confuse me as I can’t seem to put any logic to them. Controversial writer James Frey once stated regarding the death of his son “I like the idea of him being in heaven even tho I don’t believe in it.” I think this describes the religious perception of death in a very logical way, life after death is a way of making you feel better about death and losing your loved ones.
Wouldn’t it be nice and comforting to believe that our lost loved ones will someday be reunited? These dreams only exist for those who can believe based on convenience, desire, fear and super naturalism. Non-Religious people such as myself are incapable of such faith - As our beliefs are built on reality as in what we know to be tangible.

For the non-believers death is better described as ‘non-existence’ Before you were born you were in a state of non-existence. An eternity existed before you were born, and an eternity will exist when you die.

Life is perceived by the non-religious as but a short distance of the needle hitting the vinyl on a never ending record. You are either existing or not existing.
The religious perception and the non-religious perception of death are very similar in a way. One decides to seek comfort in fantasy and one seek’s comfort in understanding and reality. We are constantly reminded that death is colour - and I fully agree with this. Death, contrary to belief - is beautiful. A final rest of peace, a full understanding of life and in some cases, an escape.

Some would argue the beauty of nature is evidence of a peaceful reality, but that is irrelevant evidence unless the ugly aspects of nature such as disease, famine and rape are evidence against the supposed peaceful reality.
Why do we put so much negative emphasis on death? Why do we worry about death? Does death truly effect the dying, or does it effect the people surrounding them? The sooner we accept the reality of death, the sooner we understand the reality of life.
